“Jack and James

"Hurrah! I did it, I succeeded, I invented the machine, Finally, I invented the time machine. You want to see this, wanna travel in the past? Would you ever wish to go in your past?" James was doing hip-hurrah with joy after finishing his work which he has been doing the previous four years. He got happy, he shared his joy feeling with his friend, Jack, who almost lay on a wooden box, eating bananas, and throwing their peels all around with carelessness.

Quickly he looked up to his scientist friend when he shouted. He didn't understand for a while what happened to his friend, he thought he went mad. He knew about his crazy friend and his foolish inventions. Since every time he got busy with his stupid inventions in his garage. Yeah, garage! He is a car mechanic and converted his garage into a science lab. Since he is a bad mechanic so no one fixes his cars to him. He is always surrounded by machines and trying to invent something. Many times he invented very bad and stupid things, which made him lose but he never changed. His

friend Jack is also a jobless and useless man, so he always lying in his garage and listening to the news for new inventions from his stupid friend.

Now he saw his friend jumping and shouting with joy, he was understood, his friend James invented something stupid new. He stood up from the wooden box, when he moved his step ahead he slipped badly from a banana peel, which he threw a while before.  After that, he stood up immediately and glanced at the newly invented machine.

"

Is it a time travel machine? Will it work?" he asked uncertainly to his friend.

"Yeah, it will absolutely work. We can easily travel in the past. Where will you wanna go?"

"I cannot trust you; it’s hard to trust you knowing your previous record. I'll never go anywhere."

"See first my dear, this time you enjoy this."

No, I don't wanna enjoy it. "

Then James his scientist friend pressed a button, lights began to blink in it, a bell started to buzz. His friend Jack examined the whole machine.

“Now you wanna travel in the past?"

James asked him with a winking of his eye.

"Okay. Let's try." Jack said.

They both sat in the machine and James pressed the start button, a loud siren began to rung, green lights on, and the machine took a jolt and flew.

A few hours later they both were at a destination. They got out of the machine and looked around, there was a forest. No one was there. They hid their machine in a bush and walked in a forest. They strolled, then abruptly a few people covered

their surroundings. They were black. They wore clothes of leaves and grasped

spears in their hands. They were shouting in an unknown forest language.

"Oh great! We have reached far past when people lived in a forest. These are tribes, who live in a forest." James shouted with joy.

Soon all the men carried him on their shoulders and moved on. They took him to an open field where they had lit a fire and placed a large pot on which food was cooked.

“Oh, wow! They are celebrating a festival and they invited us to it”. James said again in joy.

Many people were standing in a circle. They were all screaming and cheering happily. Suddenly a pin drop of silence covered the whole.  Everyone looked to one side, they both did the same. A fat black man, wearing a hat of leaves and bushes resembling a crown, entered the ground. He was guarded by two bodyguards around him. He looked at both friends one by one and said to the

crowd,

"Okay, let's celebrate. The two of them will be cooked tonight. Celebrate the party. Now tie them both to a tree until nightfall."

"Oh no, they will cook us, they are preparing their food. They are man-eaters. Oh my God, we are in the man-eating forest. They are ..."

They were both tied up before Jack could finish his sentence.

“Once again your stupid invention got us stuck. What will we do now? I don't want to be cooked”    Jack felt fear.

“And I love to be cooked. Let me think. "

James replied angrily.

Everyone went to prepare for the night's function. “Now is the time to escape. But how”? James said thoughtfully.

Suddenly he called out, "Hey, I have a cutter in my coat pocket. Let me check”. He put his hand in his pocket and saw a cutter.

“Yeah, it”! He shouted enthusiastically.

“Shhh "Silence, if they heard”  ... Jack didn’t complete his sentence.

They were walking slowly and carefully in the forest after cutting their ropes. They wanted to quickly reach their machine, which they hid in the bushes. They were moving slowly and taking a cautious step, suddenly James slipped off the slope, and crawled down. Jack laughed out loud.

Eventually, they reached the bushes where they hid their machine. But unfortunately, the human-eater approached him screaming. They both quickly pulled the machine out of the bushes and mounted on it. When they tried to get inside, Jack’s head hit the machine badly, this time James laughed out loud. Jack angrily pushed him

inside.

The man-eaters were approaching them and were about to catch them when James switched on the machine and the machine flew away. At last, they reached home. Then they checked in the machine to see where they had traveled, and where they had

visited, what they saw was surprising since they didn't travel in the past they just traveled in a Brazilian forest in the present time and those people were the tribes of that forest. It wasn't a time travel machine it's just a travel machine like a small airplane.

“But are there people today too who eat humans”? ۔ James asked Jack surprisingly.

Jack didn't answer and grabbed his neck with his hands to kill him.

"Don't try to invent anything else or I'll kill you."
